The Fleece Bar and Kitchen is a family owned Restaurant and Bar nestled in the beautiful Scottish Borders. Conveniently located on the A7, we are right in the heart of this Historic Town steeped in tradition. Our Restaurant entrance
looks out onto Selkirk’s Market Place where Sir Walter Scott still proudly resides!
The Fleece building dates back to the early 19th century where records show there has been an “Inn” of some description since 1823. In 2017
the exterior went through some major building works to restore and replace parts of this historical building to ensure there will still be an “Inn” for many more years to come!
At The Fleece Hotel on 17 November 1875, the Dandie
Dinmont Terrier Club (DDTC) was formed and this association is still going strong today. You can, on occasion, walk into the Bar and there will be Dandies and their owners sitting there – especially in June each year when many
come to visit the founding father of the breed, Old Ginger, at The Haining and participate in the annual Dandie Derby – it is a sight to behold!
No longer a Hotel, The Fleece Bar and Kitchen has been owned and run by the Ward
Family since February 2016.
